A source for Neatkarīgā, who has previously provided reliable information about the circumstances of Pāvels Rebenoks’ murder, reports that there was a break in the operation of video surveillance systems in Langstiņi village on the night of the crime. Just long enough to arrive, kill and leave. Another confirmation of the fact that the death of the lawyer was not just an accident while stealing cufflinks.
Even the most foolish robber would not be able to prepare a sophisticated plan for the robbery and then overthrow the operation, increasing the expected prison sentence to life imprisonment for unplanned murder. Even five years behind the bars are considered a risk limit in criminal circles. In addition, a prudent criminal would also carry out a timely reconnaissance of the object and simply steal Rebenoks’ cufflinks while the homeowners are not at home or are asleep. These criminals waited for both spouses to return home. But did not wait until they went to bed. Immediately one was beaten with a wooden board, but the other was made to watch the execution. You wouldn’t do that for some cufflinks.
The police neither confirm nor deny the information about the video surveillance turning off. No comments are made on this case. However, it is significant that at the meeting of the Saeima Defense, Interior and Corruption Prevention Commission that was convened in regarding the murder, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Board Armands Ruks mentioned video cameras - in Langstiņi village it is necessary to improve the capacity of video surveillance systems. Apparently, the police does not have a video of the killers. And that is why people are asked to help:
“The State Police is requesting a response from drivers whose vehicles are equipped with video recorders and who traveled around Langstiņi, Upesciems, Sunīši, Amatnieki, Baltezers and Līči regions on September 19 and 20, 2020, as well as in the rest of Langstiņi village in Garkalne municipality. The State Police also invites the public, especially the residents of these settlements, to provide any information that may be useful for the investigation. "
It is not reported whether anyone has responded to the police call. However, the public no longer needs to be fed murder cause version number one - robbery. This has been declared the main possibility by the State Police. Even if the cufflinks and watches were exorbitantly expensive, no one would kill a lawyer for that. Lawyers are murdered because they represent someone’s interests and much more money. Therefore, two parallel versions are much more reliable. About the historical connection of the company Olainfarm with drug mafia, which is even an indisputable fact proven in court. And the mixing of the lawyer and the party he represents in gas matters, which is already a matter of national security, and is automatically of interest to the special services of the countries involved. Neatkarīga reported this in the publication “New theory about the murder of the well-known lawyer Pāvels Rebenoks”.
There has been a presumption in informed circles that the murder of a lawyer was carried out in the name of joint interest, namely that the political mafia planned it and the drug mafia carried out. Or maybe a second helped the first one out without coordinating. But they both had to get rid of Rebenoks in order to warn the people he represented or other similar hindrances that they, too, would be beaten with a terrace board if they did not let it go. All that was left was to hire the necessary people - experts who knew both how to prepare a clear message, how to give the police a version of the robbery of cufflinks, and how to make a fallback - to cast a shadow over the struggles of Olainfarm shareholders. It should be reminded that the day before the assassination of the lawyer Pāvels Rebenoks, a character from the local criminal world was intensively searching or rather pretended to be looking for the contacts of Jānis Kiršblats, the advisor to the board of Olainfarm. And Kiršblats played in the team opposing Rebenoks. Here's another clue to keep the police busy.
Meanwhile, the murderers have long been moving in the direction of Germany, but to calculate the one who hired them requires political will, not the standard police algorithms used to search for Rebenoks’ cufflinks. That is what Dzintars Jaundžeikars thinks. He has been both the Minister of the Interior and the head of the National Security Commission of the Saeima. And at one such point in time, he was taken in for incitement to reveal a state secret. To whom? Unknown. What secret? Also unknown. However, in the end of the case, an agreement was reached on the sentence, and it was reached by Jaundžeikars' lawyer Pāvels Rebenoks. At that time, he was very thoroughly acquainted with the regulatory enactments that protect state secrets, grant special services their rights and restrict them. Rebenoks knew a lot and understood how the political scene that is supervised by the special services works. Probably that is why the New Conservative Party so desperately resisted his joining the council of Latvenergo. Party leaders Jānis Bordāns and Juris Jurašs were even ready to sacrifice the government of Krišjānis Kariņš if Rebenoks was allowed to approach politics. In the end, the sacrifice chosen was the Minister of Economy Ralfs Nemiro. He was neutralized by special services, depriving him of access to state secret, and at one time he also got rid of Nemiro's friend and adviser Rebenoks, who was dangerous for the liquefied gas project lobbied by the NCP.
Jaundžeikars explains that such a professional murder indicates the presence of a very large amount of money. It’s not millions! In the long run, these are billions that would bypass Russia if the liquefied gas brought by the American Pīters Aloizs Ragaušs was pumped into the Inčukalns gas storage instead of Russian natural gas. And then there is already a plan for a new mandatory procurement component (OIK) for electricity consumers, which will oblige the state to buy Ragaušs’ gas. It is no wonder that both the special services and criminal bodies of both countries are grazing around the story of Rebenoks’ murder.
Both motives - the redistribution of the gas market and the claims of the Russian drug cartel to Olainfarm are not mutually exclusive. The bothersome character has led the mafias of various industries to unite their interests and provide a common board for a public announcement.
According to Jaundžeikars, this is not a case of ordinary murder meant for the police level. The investigation should be taken over by the State Security Service, but at the political level it should be supervised by the National Security Commission of the Saeima and also by the National Security Council. The case is much more serious than the proponents of the cufflinks preach.
